Fly-half wants to reward travelling fans at Birmingham Moseley!

FLY-HALF Fraser Honey believes Rams will put on a performance both players and supporters alike can be proud of at Birmingham Moseley tomorrow (3pm).

A second runners-up campaign in a row sees the visitors head to the fifth-placed Midlanders, themselves enjoying a best season in a decade, with a big crowd expected at Billesley Common for the last hurrah.

And Fraser – who is set to start a full house of 26 National One games – told the Rugby Ramble Podcast: “It’s a massive game. To go through a season like we have and come so close, it’s another nearly, but we’ve got to rubber stamp the envelope.

“It’s a special group in the changing room, so many great and talented lads and we need to finish off in a professional manner – we’re all hungry to get the win.

“We need to put in a performance which we’re all proud of, but also one for the supporters – they’ve got a coach on, and we’ll be doing it for them.”

The Cornwall captain, who has racked up 166 points during his maiden campaign at Old Bath Road, continued: “From the outside it might look like there’s not much to play for, but there is to both sides.

“It’s an honour every time to put on the shirt and we’ve got to do it justice, because what I’ve learnt this year is every team wants to put one on us.

“I do a lot of analysis on the opposition during the week and sometimes when they’ve not played too well the week before, they come to us and it’s like a cup final.”

Having been involved in a similar situation in recent seasons at Redruth, Fraser ended by telling the Ramily he is optimistic for the future, ending: “It’s a hell of a challenge going for a title, mentally and physically, you’ve got butterflies every week, but overall Chinnor have deserved it.

“We can take huge pride in our performances, though – we’ll kick ourselves on a few games – but this is a side which is developing and we’ll get better, which is very exciting.”
