We thought as it was so early in the season that we would be playing a few training games. A v A B V B and a bit of mixed.
This is what had been arranged mid week.
We were also under the impression that Bracknell would have two teams.
It all turned into a bit of a farce, Bracknell had other ideas on the day. It seems they were trying to blood their A team ready for an encounter the following week away to Chobham. Not what we had in mind at all.
The first 20 minutes of Rams v A which was a fairly even affair. With the remainder of their squad joining in with our Titans for a Gensians V Baa Baas game. We then put out our B team. Bracknell kept their A team exactly the same and would have been very happy to have done so if we did not put a stop to it. Not sure what the objective of putting out a tried and tested team against an inexperienced team with a number of new players was.
After much discussion on the pitch by the coaches we then had the farce of a Rams v A team game again while I took the Titans teams off for game on the other pitch, while the remainder of the Bracknell Bs stood and watched their A team play.
The final game of the day consisted of a mixed Rams/Titans V Brackenell A and B.
All in all a completely wasted morning that could have been better spent training.
