Titans on a roll

Maidenhead v Titans.
The Titans fared much better against a good Maidenhead side. The game was a fairly even affair for most of the first half. Titans scored first which settled their nerves. Maidenhead came back very strongly and started to dominate the break down winning good ball at the rucks which allowed them to pull a try back. When we got quick ball we looked dangerous, some good handling from the backs gave us another try just before the break. HT 7-14. I think we could have scored a few more if only the boys would believe in themselves, not hesitate and just go for it.
The second half came all too quickly for the Titans and after the short break they had fallen asleep completely. They were losing the ball at most of the breakdowns; it was only the consistent tackling that kept Maidenhead out. Maidenhead kept at it and eventually broke the tackles and managed to score twice making it 22-14 with about 8 minutes to go. A quick team talk about how your need to start believing in yourself and the team seemed to wake up. The forwards started to get back into the game winning good ball and using the back line to is advantage on the near normal size pitch. Three try’s came in quick succession with two converted from acute angles into the wind which put the Titans in the lead again. Well done Jack for converting 4 out of 5 in very windy conditions today.
