No. 14: Chinnor 22-10 Rams (September 25, 2010)
Rams slipped to a second consecutive away defeat at the start of the National Three South West season, the hosts’ centre Matt Goode playing the key role with a brilliant hat-trick.
It was Goode who gave the home side a 12th-minute lead as he crossed the whitewash, Ben Hewitt adding the extras to make it 7-0.
Rams hit back early in the second quarter when James Baker powered over for the visitors’ opening try, although with Barry de Jager off target having already missed a penalty attempt, Chinnor remained 7-5 to the good.
A Hewitt penalty extended the advantage before half-time, but Rams struck first after the interval, Rob Castell dotting down to level the scores.
Sadly that was as good as it got and two further Goode tries, the latter converted by Hewitt, gave the Kingsey Road men a reasonably comfortable success.
