Robbie Stapley leads the way with two try effort

Cornish All Blacks 0 Redingensians Rams 34.

Robbie Stapley crossed twice as Rams swept aside bottom of the table Cornish All Blacks to ease their relegation worries with a bonus point victory.
After his side’s fourth successive win, coach Mike Tewkesbury said: "We were quite clinical. It was a job well done.”
“Our driving play against the wind in the first half was the right tactic. After the break we started well but probably lost our momentum later on when we made changes.”
“The conditions were tiring. In places the pitch was like a bog. If it had been a horse race meeting, it would have been called off.”
Rams had taken a big step towards victory with a 12-0 interval lead as their pack battered the All Blacks up front in the scrummaging and mauling departments.
But they had wait until midway through the first 40 minutes for the breakthrough. They won a lineout close to the home line and after several phases Jamie Guttridge crashed over.
Then right on half time No 8 Stapley broke from a five metre scrum to touch down and Jamar Richardson, taking over the kicking duties from injured Spike Chandler, converted via the upright.
In the second half, beleaguered All Blacks never got a look in and conceded four more tries.
Three minutes after the restart, Guttridge set up Samir Kharbouch who strolled through a feeble defence to score, Richardson adding the extras.
A five metre scrum set up a simple blindside try for winger Conor Corrigan in the 51st minute before swift hands put Sean McDermottroe in for try No 5.
With a quarter of an hour to go, yet another short yardage scrum led to Stapley’s second effort. He touched down a pushover before the game petered out in the closing stages as Rams lost their intensity.
Throughout the winless Cornishmen never looked like breaking down a well organised Rams defence.
In a good team effort, the back row of Kharbouch, Tom Vooght and Stapley shone while once again Guttridge contributed an important opening try.
Rams have a weekend off before they take on lowly Dorking away in another important game towards preserving their National 2 South status.
