MARVELLOUS Mikey Duda took home the Tackling Trophy at Saturday night’s end-of-season ball.
The dynamic flanker has built up a reputation as a powerful hitter since joining the club back in the summer of 2022, rising swiftly through the ranks from the 4th XV to an established National One performer.
Mikey had to wait until the record-breaking Friday Night Lights home game against Richmond for his first outing of this campaign, amazingly scoring with his first touch to give hope to the majority of the 1,829 crowd before Rams ultimately went down 7-5 in the top-of-the-table tussle.
The former Reading Abbey ace went onto feature another 11 times, his fondness for playing London clubs again re-emphasised with the decisive final score in the 49-40 victory in the final home game against Rosslyn Park.
In what was a hard-fought battle for the award, the likes of Rowan Grundy, Players’ Player of the Year Dan Swain, captain Max Hayman and prop Paddy Harris were all given kudos for their outstanding efforts during the season.
*Well done Mikey and we look forward to more of the same next season!
