Book early for cheaper tickets as Rams head to Birmingham Moseley!

RUNNERS-UP Rams will hope to end the National One season on a high when they travel to Birmingham Moseley for their final game on Saturday (3pm).

Their fifth-placed opponents have enjoyed one of their best campaigns in recent years, and looked in contention for a top-three finish when racking up five straight wins in January and February.

The return of talismanic skipper Ollie Stedman is likely to further boost the Midlanders, who are expecting a big crowd for a day where there is entertainment throughout including a half-time obstacle course and post-match DJ.

Rams, meanwhile, currently sit on 98 points from their 25 matches, knowing victory at Billesley Common would take them into three figures for the second season in a row, albeit they once again finish as bridesmaids with neighbours Chinnor having wrapped up the title a fortnight ago.

Rams won the home encounter 50-36 in an opening-day cracker, although they endured a dreadful start which saw them 10-0 down inside six minutes after Will Safe and Dan Brough crossed for Moseley.

A Connor Stapley try on his 100th Rams appearance was added to by debutant Fraser Honey’s conversion, but Birmingham moved further clear as Freddie Painter and Ryan Roach crossed, Tighe Maxwell-Whiteley adding to the first.

Trailing 22-7, Rams reduced the deficit to one point before the break as Honey converted scores from another first-time starter, Mike Hoyt, and Henry Bird.

National One’s top try-scorer Max Hayman’s first of 25 this term made it 26-22, but Moseley replied with Roach doubling up and Maxwell-Whiteley slotting the conversion.

A quickfire Ben Atkins brace along with an Ollie Monye try and two Honey kicks made it 45-29 to Rams, and despite Brough grabbing a second, a late Zach Clow try took the hosts to their half century.

*Supporters heading to Moseley are advised admission prices are lower when bought in advance (£17 rather than £20 for adules, £13/16 for Over 65). To book, click here
