A fine blend of youth and experience see's Rams win floodlit tournament.
The first three way Friday night tournament between Abbey, Maidenhead and Rams proved a great success. The objective of the tournament is to enable players that struggle to make Saturday fixtures to get a run out. The idea is the brain child of Russ Bolton from Maidenhead.
Rams fielded a mixed side from the Cents and the Horde which was great to see. Really good to see Betts and Cushine-Palmer for the first time this season, and to have Baker out for the first time following shoulder surgery in January.
In the first match Rams held on to beat Abbey 17 - 19. Two tries from Wilkinson, one from Rose and two conversions from J Dias. In the second match, despite the yellow carding of the entire Richardson family in the same incident (some things just don't change!) Rams won 5 - 15 with tries from Rose, Conlon and J Richardson.
Thanks to the travelling support. Thanks to Russ for getting the evening off the ground.
Quote of the day;
Prop Conlon; "how many more of these are there? Friday night: rugby and a beer. This is brilliant".
