Quartet look to help Berkshire Under 20s reach quarter-finals!

FOUR young Rams have been picked by Berkshire Under 20s as they hunt a place in the quarter-finals of Division Two of the Jason Leonard County Championship at Hampshire tomorrow.

The Royal County head into the contest with a 43-7 advantage from the opening game at Old Bath Road three weeks ago, but will be looking to seal their spot in the last eight when they head to Havant for a 2pm kick-off.

The Rams contingent is headed by front rows Harry Etwell and Spencer Hayhow, the latter scoring the opening four tries as captain in the previous game.

The two other Rams players included in the squad are full back Charlie Robson, the 19-year-old wing who has impressed since making his National One debut at Leeds Tykes last month, and outside centre Henry Lenthall.

Joining Harry and Spencer up front is Toby Dann Muirhead, the Maidenhead man who caught the eye with his strong scrummaging and ball carrying, while behind them are Ealing Trailfinders’ Callum Cooper and University of Reading man Jack Hoskin in the engine room.

The back row consists of Josh Norman along with the Bracknell duo of Paul Studd and No. 8 Josh Riles.

Abbey’s Sol Robinson is partnered by stand-off Matt Smith at half-back, with University student George Alvis paired with Henry in midfield.

Out wide another Maidenhead player, Avery Smiles Tyson starts on the right wing, while Finn Matthews – who has played for Rams Titans a couple of times – is on the other flank, with Charlie rounding out the side.

On the bench, the University front row pair of Frankie Austin and Rob De Allie are ready to add impetus, while Bracknell’s Adam Khan, Oxford Quins youngster Ben Murrell and Maidenhead’s Adam Price are also included.

Abbey’s Alex Jaffray and Reading University’s Cellan Richards complete the squad, while two more Rams, Tom Cook and Marcus Lampkin, along with Ollie Goodall from Newbury, head away as travelling reserves.
