Olivers trigger revival but twist in tale.

REDINGENSIANS RAMS 24 OLD ELTHAMIANS 27
Skipper Andy Amor confessed poor discipline cost his side dearly in a National 2 South thriller at the Old Bath Road ground – but was positive about the future.
They outscored their visitors four tries to three but only had two bonus points to show for their whole-hearted effort.
Amor admitted: “It was disappointing. We had two yellow cards when we were on top. We gave too many penalties away at the breakdown.”
“But we have injured players coming back and can pick up more points in the next few matches against clubs in the bottom half of the table.”
In a ding-dong struggle, Rams fought back from a 7-17 deficit just before half time to lead 24-17 early in the second half.
Then they lost their momentum when down to 14 men for a 20-minute spell midway through the half with Ollie Poole and Amor sin-binned.
Rams had made a great start. In-form Samir Kharbouch had a try ruled out after only 36 seconds before a third minute try from lock Dieter Kerschbaumer, his first for the club, was converted by Sam Brown.
Tom White pegged back three points for OEs and the Kent side began to take control. Their back division looked dangerous throughout and it was no surprise when they went ahead. Jamie Cullen touched down and White added first of his three conversions.
He stretched his side’s lead with a try of his own and OEs, far superior in the line-out yet under pressure in the scrum, looked to be cruising to an easy victory.
But in a blistering eight minute spell either side of the break, Rams launched a revival which shocked Elthamians with three tries.
Olly Taylor crashed over right on the half-time whistle, Brown adding a brilliant touchline conversion, before backs Ollie Foxley and Poole also scored.
The trio of Olivers had put Rams back in the game but there was a twist in the tale.
A White penalty narrowed the arrears to 24-20 before Rams were hit by the sin-binnings. and a 67th minute try.
OEs replacement Jon Webber raced through the home defence for the vital score leaving Rams with just bonus points for a gutsy display.
