PERHAPS Rams’ greatest ever player, Johnny Williams, is set for a first Wales start in two years after being recalled for Saturday’s game against Japan.
The former Mini, who went onto play for London Irish, Newcastle Falcons and now Scarlets, will win an eighth test cap as Matt Sherratt’s side look to snap a 17-match losing run in Kitakyushu.
Johnny has been selected for the first time since Wales’ World Cup win against Portugal in September 2023, starting at outside centre as opposed to all his previous appearances at 12.
The 28-year-old, educated at The Forest School, will be looking to add to his two international tries against England and New Zealand.
