RORY Paxton’s decade-long service was recognised at the Rams’ end-of-season presentation night as he was awarded an Honours Cap.
While the versatile forward was unable to be there, his efforts since first joining the club in 2012/13 were praised.
Rory originally started as a hooker and made 11 appearances in his debut season, crossing the whitewash in consecutive games against Newton Abbot in a 30-25 home win, and then in the 32-25 reverse at Old Patesians.
He went onto feature 22 times in the following campaign, adding two more tries to his tally against Chippenham (60-5) and Old Pats (29-0) as Rams finished as runners-up in National Three South West, eventually edged out by Old Elthamians in the promotion play-off.
Having reached Level Four, Rory clocked up a few more caps, while his most recent first-team game was at home to Old Elthamians in the 31-15 National One home defeat back in 2019.
However, he has proven a wonderful leader, regularly captaining the Titans and also featuring in the back row.
He also skippered Rams Blues in the club’s second match following the Covid break, a 38-0 victory in Maidenhead back in May 2021.
