NATIONAL ONE FIXTURES REVEALED

NATIONAL ONE FIXTURES REVEALED

Rich Ashton30 Aug 2023 - 11:30

An absolutely epic season awaits - with two home games to start!

RAMS will start their 2023/24 National One campaign with back-to back home games in front of two of the best-supported and dangerous customers the league has to offer.

The seasonal opener sees Birmingham Moseley visit Old Bath Road – narrow victors in Berkshire in April 2022 – before the latest instalment of one of the best derbies in the league.

Details are to be confirmed, but it is hoped Chinnor will visit OBR under the Friday Night Lights on September 8, Rams then heading up north to visit National Two champions Sedgley Park for the first time on the 16th.

An opening month full of outstanding fixtures then sees perennial title-chasers Rosslyn Park in Berkshire on the 23rd, before Rams travel to Somerset to test a Taunton Titans side who edged them out 18-17 two seasons ago and nearly ended the perfect start last time round.

After hosting old nemesis Bishop’s Stortford to kick off October (7), Rams face another new fixture at Leicester Lions on the 14th at the end of a pulsating opening seven-match swing.

A three-week break heralds the latest visit of Darlington Mowden Park to OBR on November 4, Seb Reynolds’ side then up to Sale seven days later as they look to snap a four-match losing run against the Dogs.

Old rivals Cinderford are next up before a trip to National Two East winners Blackheath, resurgent Plymouth Albion then coming to Berkshire at the start of December.

Things get even tougher prior to Christmas with back-to-back trips to three-time National One champions Richmond and derby hosts Chinnor, 2024 starting with a home game against Sedgley.

Another tricky test follows when Rams head to Rosslyn Park at The Rock, January finished as Taunton arrive at OBR.

After a week off Bishop’s Stortford lie in wait in Hertfordshire, the Lions at home and DMP away completing the February programme.

There will be no quarter given from either side as Sale visit on March 9, Rams then travelling to Cinderford and hosting Blackheath on the next two weeks.

After a week off the daunting trip to Plymouth Albion follows on April 6, Richmond at home next in line during a formidable end to the campaign.

There are no games due on the following weekend, a trip to Moseley the final action come April 27.
