NATIONAL ONE TEAMS FOR 2025/26 CONFIRMED

NATIONAL ONE TEAMS FOR 2025/26 CONFIRMED

Rich Ashton7 May - 11:00

Rams set to face three promoted former opponents!

RAMS are set to renew rivalries with three previous opponents when the National One campaign gets underway in September.

While former Level Three rivals Leeds Tykes and Tonbridge Juddians had wrapped up promotion ahead of the final day of the season, Clifton held their nerve to secure the National Two West title with a 48-22 home win against Exeter University.

The victory ensured the Bristolians took the spoils from long-term leaders Camborne, their record of 21 wins, one draw and four defeats enough to tally 112 points and set-up a first game with Rams since Seb Reynolds’ side claimed the National Two South title with a 45-21 success at Station Road back in April, 2019.

Leeds and TJs both ensured they will be back in National One following two and three seasons away after convincing triumphs in Two North and East respectively.

Tykes had been edged out the previous year by Rotherham Titans in a sensational battle which saw the runners-up drop just nine points, but they got the job done in style this time round with another 24 victories.

TJs, who were relegated from National One in the post-Covid season, followed eighth and fifth-placed finishes in Two East with silverware this time round.

The Kent side, bolstered by former Ram Vince Everitt, won 22 of their 26 fixtures in registering 111 points, enough to see off Dorking and Barnes for promotion.

With Richmond promoted to the new-look Tier Two, Rams will also face runners-up Rosslyn Park, Rotherham, Blackheath, Plymouth Albion, Sale FC, Birmingham Moseley, Bishop’s Stortford, Dings Crusaders, Sedgley Park and Leicester Lions next season.

The latter escaped relegation on the final day for the second campaign in a row by beating Stortford, Esher’s big win against Sedgley proving too little, too late.

Darlington Mowden Park were the other side to slip through the trap door.
