The 20-year-old speedster played five games for Seb Reynolds’ side while on loan from Bath last season, scoring the opening try in the 33-0 home win against Sale in Round Three.

Originally born in Pembury, Kent, Luke emigrated to South Africa where he was schooled at talent factories Paarl Boys High and the Paul Roos Gymnasium – furnishing his reputation at the latter by finishing as top try-scorer in his senior year.

These efforts led to Luke playing for Western Province A before a move back to the UK saw him enter the Bath Academy.

And while injuries restricted his game time last term, Rams are delighted to have the classy youngster at Old Bath Road for the upcoming season.
