FIRST-TIME sponsor Broadfield praised their maiden experience at Rams despite the home side falling to a 34-25 defeat to Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday.

Backing the side as ball sponsor for the first time, the law firm had a table for lunch after being introduced to the club by another local backer, Vale & West.

And Simon Blunden, from Broadfield, said: “Despite the loss, it was a great day for all of us and our guests.

“It was brilliant to be involved with the club as match ball sponsors, and at least the day was capped off by a fantastic win for England.

“We thank everyone for looking after us so well.”

During pre-match hospitality, chairman Andy Lynch thanked the group for getting involved and reiterated the club is always on the look-out for local businesses to join a journey which sees them in the race for the National One title and promotion to the second tier of English rugby for the first time ever.
