On this day in history in…
1932 – Old Redingensians were too good for visitors Finchley from start to finish and won 17-0 thanks to five tries and a conversion.
The heeling of the Old Boys was cleaner and sharper, which the backs used to good effect.
GM Vernon, Ball, WT Saunders and Russell crossed, while Hill landed the conversion.
1949 – ORs slumped to a 27-11 defeat at Bank of England.
1955 – Eric Martin and Bacon crossed the whitewash, and with Dyer adding a penalty, hosts Upper Clapton were overcome 9-0.
1960 – A Scott try converted by Jim Digby, who also added a penalty, guided Gensians to an 8-3 success at Richmond A.
1977 – Redingensians drew 7-7 at Swindon.
1983 – Tries from Tim Bell and Graham Tibbett were not enough to prevent Gensians from losing 12-8 at Beaconsfield.
1988 – A Steve Hunt try converted by Graham Tibbett was merely a consolation as Rams were beaten 26-7 at Cirencester.
