1975 – The boys in blue arrived late and within five minutes of the start of the game against Bank of England at Roehampton had lost lock Malcolm Evans with a collar bone injury.
However, the 14 men won 21-11 after some great defence.
Tim Sillince and Paul Carroll scored tries converted by Mike Bossart, and with Gareth Rees knocking over a penalty, they led 15-7 at the interval.
A Carroll interception try improved by Bossart sealed the win in the second period.
1980 – Bruce Rothnie kicked his first senior points for Gensians in their 12-10 win at Bank of England.
But the architects of victory were fly-half Paul Carroll and No. 8 Malcolm Evans – both playing out of position.
Nigel Smith and Evelyn Daniels were the try scorers and Rothnie put over a penalty and conversion.
1986 – Slough slumped to a 12-0 reverse at the Old Bath Road ground in an encounter described by Redingensians coach Rod Vaughan as a ‘game between two ordinary sides’.
Midway through the first half Martin Radford finished off a rare passing move and Graham Tibbett converted for a 6-0 interval advantage.
Pete Coombs finally sealed Slough’s fate after a defensive mix-up, Tibbett again adding the points.
1989 – Hosts Marlow cruised to a 44-0 victory.
1997 – A Neil Bailey try and Dave Cox penalty were not enough to prevent a 21-8 defeat at Reading Abbey.
