Clifton beaten (2016), Exmouth defeated (2011), Swindon downed (1999), four-try Bell punishes Phoenix (1984) and much, much more!

On this day in history in…

1932 – Thames Valley inflicted a 10-3 home defeat on ORs, all the points coming before the break as the second half became a midfield slog.

Once again Stephens supplied the only home points, which came from a good passing move by the backs.

1937 – A Sizer try was the only score as Old Redingensians won 3-0 at Berkshire Wanderers.

1960 – Gensians lost 11-0 at Ruislip.

1965 – Tony Farr converted Tom Bucknell’s try, but Redingensians lost 6-5 at home to Ruislip.

1971 – Despite losing injured Laurie Callan after half-an-hour, Gensians fought back from an 8-3 deficit to beat visitors AWRE Aldermaston 11-8 thanks to tries from Tony Roper and Tom Bucknell, plus a Bob Ballingall penalty and conversion.

1982 – Redingensians wing Joe Bell grabbed four tries in the 46-0 hammering of Phoenix at Sonning.

Debutant Nick Mills also weighed in with a try, as did John Beardmore, Danny Mullins, Terry Walters and Julian Eames.

Chris Vaal kicked four conversions and Pete Mooney another.

1988 – Martin Radford, Whitwell and Jamie Redrup dotted down and the former kicked a penalty as Gensians beat Saffron Walden 15-7.

1993 – Rob Hancock, Shane Tawera and Ray Brown were on the scoresheet and Graham Tibbett converted their tries in a 21-3 home win against Old Gaytonians.

1999 – A Micky Bell brace and tries from Martin Cranfield and Greg Way, added to by a trio of Dave Cox conversions, ushered Redingensians to a 26-5 success against visitors Swindon.

2010 – Rams pulled off a brilliant 27-23 victory at Exmouth thanks to a penalty try and further five-pointers from Seb Reynolds, Peter Freeth and Hill, with Joe Matthams’ pair of conversions and a penalty sealing the win.

2016 – Robbie Stapley and Samir Kharbouch crossed the whitewash and Spike Chandler kicked two conversions and two penalties to guide Rams to a 20-11 home win against Clifton.
