Despite losing at Birmingham Moseley 19-17 last weekend, Club have returned to Level Three in impressive fashion.
They beat Richmond 21-17 in Round Nine, going down on tough away trips to Plymouth Albion (28-15) and Chinnor (53-8), the latter their one bad blip, prior to that.
A Week Six 52-12 hammering of Cinderford is the most recent of three straight home wins, sandwiching a 19-14 setback at Sale alongside another dominant 43-13 Well Hall victory against Darlington Mowden Park.
Blackheath started the season with a thumping 34-3 triumph at Leicester Lions on the back of a 31-27 setback against visiting Bishop’s Stortford, Club having won a high-scoring shoot-out 36-33 at Taunton Titans on the opening day.
Players to Watch:
Paul Schroter – Former Exeter University captain and England Students man proved a big hit during a season at Rams in 2021/22, finishing as runner-up in the Players’ Player of the Year vote.
Equally adept in the second row or on the flank, Schroter switched to Club and scored six tries in 14 appearances last term.
Man-of-the-match on his return at Chinnor last month, he has been an ever-present in the engine room since.
Sam Hill – Played five times as Exeter Chiefs won the European Champions Cup in 2020, with the centre racking up more than 150 caps for the two-time Premiership side after debuting in 2013.
He moved onto Sale Sharks a couple of seasons ago where he continued to thrive and was linked with a move to America’s Major League Rugby in the summer, before deciding to switch to Well Hall.
Leo Fielding – Wing reached his 100th first-team cap against Richmond a fortnight ago, having made his maiden appearance back in 2015.
Spent the 2021/22 campaign at London Scottish in the Championship before returning to Club, and is currently joint top try-scorer with his four to his name so far.
