Recent Form: Aside from last week’s 28-0 reverse at Sedgley Park – a game in which the visitors endured train troubles and the conditions being against them in the first half – Rosslyn have been in fine form after a tough start.
Indeed, the final-play 27-26 setback at Birmingham Moseley prior to a Round 11 home 33-29 success against Plymouth Albion, was the only defeat the Londoners suffered in seven weeks.
And other than an 18-15 Friday Night Lights triumph against Bishop’s Stortford, the free-flowing Londoners also got their scoring boots on, triumphant 48-24 at Leicester Lions, 61-24 versus Dings Crusaders at The Rock, 34-15 in Sale, 44-26 at home to Esher and 46-13 at Darlington Mowden Park.
And while Park lost their opening three games at Blackheath (32-24), to a final-play 21-19 reverse against unbeaten table-toppers Richmond and a 31-21 first-day loss at fellow high-fliers Rotherham Titans, those results and the subsequent league table have been put in context as the season reaches its halfway point.
Players to Watch:
Jack Digby – Australian back-row, equally adept at blind-side flanker or No. 8, returned to London from Doncaster Knights back in July having made 20 appearances for the Championship side last term, touching down once.
Previously spent two years at Ealing Trailfinders for 37 caps (six tries) having represented Eastern Suburbs in the Shute Shield back in his homeland.
One score in nine matches for Park so far.
Charlie Mulchrone – Experienced scrum-half came out of retirement in the summer, having enjoyed bags of professional experience both domestically and in Europe with Rotherham Titans, Worcester Warriors and Harlequins.
Also played for Richmond in their pre-Covid win at Old Bath Road, and has been an ever-present this term with four tries in 12 appearances.
James Reddy-Corden – England Sevens wing made the switch from Ealing Trailfinders during the off-season, having racked up some 100 appearances in the Championship and various cups.
Has grabbed five tries in 10 games so far and forms a formidable back three with Benji Marfo and Charlie Walker, the trio having played the past seven games unchanged.
