Recent Form: Mixed, but scoring plenty of tries!

Beaten 34-15 by visitors Birmingham Moseley last week, Titans came so close to winning at Richmond as they missed a final-play penalty in a 22-21 loss.

They produced one of the shocks of the season in the final game before Christmas, overcoming Plymouth Albion 29-24, though lost 40-31 at Cinderford and 56-32 at home to Sale – a game they led 32-14 early in the second period – prior to that.

Taunton claimed a fabulous 33-24 success at Darlington Mowden Park in Round 11, a result which snapped a three-match losing streak to Leicester Lions (27-17), Bishop’s Stortford (38-29) and Chinnor (53-21).

Having repeatedly come close, it was Week Seven when Titans picked up their first win of the season, an eye-catching 40-17 demolition of Rosslyn Park.

They opened the season in reverse order with defeats to Sedgley Park (32-28), Rams (41-35), Moseley (35-22), Richmond (29-14), Plymouth (54-29) and Blackheath (36-33).

Players to Watch:

Ratu Vakalutukali – Fijian back row made his 150th Titans appearance in the win against Plymouth before Christmas and is a legend at Veritas Park.

Moved to England to join the Marines and having been stationed in Taunton, has stayed with the club ever since joining.

Has only missed two games so far this season, scoring three tries, and crossed the whitewash at Old Bath Road back in January, 2022.

Noah Fenton – Top try-scorer in National One, the teenager is absolutely electric on the wing.

Scored a hat-trick against Rams earlier in the campaign and also has doubles against Plymouth, Sale, Darlington, Bishop’s Stortford, Rosslyn Park and Birmingham among 19 tries in 15 appearances – only drawing a blank four times.

Previously with the Exeter Academy, he played for Chiefs recently against the University.

Greg Kitson – Full back, who can also play on the wing, is third top try-scorer for the Somerset men having crossed four times this term - including against Rams.

An almost ever-present, he has missed just one game this season and is another previously in the Exeter Academy.

Also represented Devon in age-group cricket.
