Redingensians Riders join Great British Bike Ride

Paul Clark22 Jun 2010 - 07:21

Two of the older and larger members of the club have decided to indulge their Lycra fetish by taking part in the Lexus Great British Bike Ride (www.greatbritishbikeride.com) with Lions and England legend Richard Hill MBE and 200 other weary souls in aid of Help for Heroes, the RFU Injured Players Foundation and the Rugby Players Association Benevolent Fund.

Steve Giles who famously plays for the 5th team only because there is no 6th team, (as well as being dad to Ed in the U14s and Philip in the U9s) and Shaun Sheppard (the U14s biggest Coach and dad to Ruaridh in the U14s) will be riding 320 miles from Lands End to Twickenham over 4 days from 1st - 4th September, aiming to arrive at Twickenham for the London Double Header at the start of the season.

Any support you feel able to give in these difficult times will be greatly appreciated - you can donate to these extremely worthy causes and make our suffering worthwhile by sponsoring either one or both of us. Just follow these links:

Of course if there are any other budding riders out there we would be more than happy to hear from you. Drop us a note on mail@stevegiles.net or shaun@shepps.co.uk
