RAMS came from behind to start their National One campaign in exhilarating fashion with a 50-36 home triumph against Birmingham Moseley.
Things began disastrously for the hosts as Will Safe and Dan Brough crossed inside six minutes, Rams replying through a Connor Stapley score added to by Fraser Honey.
But Freddie Painter and Ryan Roach then went over for the Midlanders, Tighe Maxwell-Whiteley converting the first as his side moved 22-7 up.
However debutant Mike Hoyt dotted down before Henry Bird crossed at the end of the opening half, two more Honey conversions making it a one-point game at the interval.
A Max Hayman try put Rams in front, but Roach’s second, again converted by Maxwell-Whiteley, made it 29-26 to the visitors.
The hosts then hit their stride, however, a Ben Atkins double and an Ollie Monye effort – added to by two more Honey kicks – having them 45-26 to the good.
Brough doubled his tally, Maxwell-Whiteley with a third conversion, before Zach Clow had the final word for Rams.
The Berkshire men made it two from two under the Friday Night Lights as they again hit back to beat Chinnor 29-19 at Old Bath Road.
Tom Price was on target after Alun Walker and Izzy Wharton crossed the whitewash for 14-0 to the visitors, Honey bisecting the uprights after Dan Swain went over to halve the deficit before the break.
Chinnor moved further ahead through Morgan Passman, but their opponents came on strong as the second half progressed, an Axel Kalling-Smith brace, penalty try and Monye five-pointer securing victory as Honey added another conversion.
A fabulous defensive effort helped Rams snap Sedgley Park’s 24-match unbeaten home run with a 41-20 success in Week Three.
Warren Seals slotted an early penalty for the hosts, only for debutant Ed Hoadley to dive under the posts for Rams shortly after.
After Honey was on target Seals landed another three-pointer, but the visitors were 17-6 up at the break after Niall Kidd burrowed over and Honey added five more from the boot.
Sedge struck first after the break, Seals converting a Matt Riley score, but Hayman, Atkins and Swain all touched down for 36-13, Honey with two more kicks.
A Danny Maher try was added to by Seals, but Rams had the final word as Henry Bird scored late on.
Seb Reynolds’ men continued their perfect start with a fourth straight bonus-point win at home to Rosslyn Park, running out 31-20 victors.
Clow opened the scoring before Honey landed the extras, Park replying through Charlie Walker.
James McRae made it 12-5 before a Tom Wilstead penalty and Matt Williams try nudged the Londoners in front.
A converted Hayman try had Rams 19-13 up at the break before Clow and the hooker extended the lead, Honey with another kick for 31-13.
And despite Wilstead finding his range following a Sunny Jardine effort, the hosts closed down the final quarter efficiently.
A blistering opening inspired Rams to a dramatic 41-35 triumph at Taunton Titans as they kept the run going in Week Five.
New dad Honey nailed two kicks after Clow, Hayman and Atkins crossed the whitewash, the hosts getting on the board through Noah Fenton.
Louie Sinclair added the extras, but a Drew Humberstone try pushed Rams 24-7 in front at half-time.
Yet Taunton flew out of the blocks after the break, Sinclair reducing the deficit to three points after knocking over kicks following scores from Sam Leworthy and Fenton.
Robbie Stapley’s 98th Rams try gave his side breathing space, Calum Scott the next to cross before Honey was on target for 28-21.
The fantastic Fenton completed a hat-trick as Sinclair maintained his perfect record, only for a Honey penalty to make it 41-28.
Taunton kept going, though, and Sinclair’s conversion of a Greg Kitson score brought them within a score, only for a late breakdown penalty to ensure Rams maintained their winning streak.
