Duffelen named in squad against Bury

Joe Duffelen, last season’s “Player of the Year”, is named in the Rams squad when Bury St Edmunds visit the Old Bath Road ground for the first time on Saturday (2pm).
Full-back Duffelen, a key member of the championship winning team, makes his reappearance after surgery on a shoulder injury in the summer.
He starts on the bench along with young back-row Joe Norman, son of former first-teamer James.
Norman junior, who has come through the Rams junior ranks, is taking a break from his studies at university in New Zealand and back home on holiday.
Meanwhile the Rams coach Mike Tewksbury refuses to be carried away by last week’s impressive victory at Southend.
He warned: “There are still areas we need to improve on. We made mistakes and wasted chances but on the plus side we played the game at a brisk tempo.”
“We turned over ball and defended well but we’ve still a long way to go and we must continue to make progress.”
Mid-table Bury, promoted as champions like Rams last season, have a made reasonable start to their season.
They have won five of their 11 matches but were given a tough fight by basement club Launceston last weekend before winning 29-26.

This week’s fixtures:
Worthing v Old Albanian; Barnes v Bishop’s Stortford; Clifton v Redruth; Launceston v Cambridge; Old Elthamians v Chinnor; Southend v Dorking; Taunton v Canterbury.
