SUPER Spencer Hayhow was named Titans’ Coaches’ Player of the Year for the second consecutive season during another outstanding campaign which saw him finish as the side’s top try-scorer.
The versatile youngster played mainly at hooker or on either flank, though also stood-in at loose-head prop, No. 8 and in the centres during a season in which he touched down 10 times.
Having made his first-team debut off the bench against Esher in the National One opener, Spencer opened his Titans’ try-scoring account for the season by dotting down in the 57-7 home success against Richmond Saxons a fortnight later.
A second arrived in the 64-7 derby success at Henley Bulls at the start of October, Spencer’s next arriving during the hard-fought 15-0 triumph in filthy conditions at Blackheath Heathens.
Following a lengthy wait to add to his tally, Hayhow made up for lost time with a remarkable four tries in the 29-10 victory at home to eventual HALBRO Raging Bull Shield Division One champions Ampthill 1881, his eighth of the season arriving a week later in the convincing 66-0 victory against Blackheath.
Spencer continued his hot streak with a brace as Titans defeated a Cinderford United side which had previously lost just once all season 36-10, ensuring he ended as top scorer during a best-ever season for the side.
*Well done Spencer on another fine season!
