SUMMER signing Nick Barry will make his National One debut as one of five changes for Rams’ home game with Bishop’s Stortford tomorrow (3pm).
The tight-head prop, who joined from Camberley and was outstanding for the Development XV at Oxford University last week, comes into the team with Ant Marris also restored to the starting line-up on the other side of the front row.
A try-scorer at Sale last time out, Morgan MacRae sandwiches the two with Harry Stone the only other alteration in the pack, coming into the second row in place of Robbie Stapley who misses out with a minor niggle.
The imperious Dan Swain partners Stone in the engine room, with the regular back row trio of Ben Atkins, Tom Vooght and No. 8 James McRae once again in situ to complete the pack.
Scrum-half Ollie Cole celebrated his 125th first-team appearance with a try-scoring effort at Sale, and he will once again link-up with Fraser Honey as they look to get the back-line flowing, the latter taking over the captaincy from the injured Stapley.
The final changes come in midfield, where Rowan Grundy comes back from a concussion to take the inside centre jersey and Army man Solodrau Radianirova stepping up from the bench outside him.
The Fijian’s promotion sees versatile Sweden skipper Axel Kalling-Smith move back to the left wing, while 10-try Zach Clow remains on the right with Andrew Lamb at No. 15 off the heels of his second five-pointer of the campaign last time out.
Seasonal matchday ever-present Paddy Harris and the club’s record appearance-maker, James Baker – on for his 432nd – are the props cover, with the hard-hitting Mikey Duda also ready to make an impact in the forwards.
Loughborough University centre Joe Pannese drops to the bench after two decent efforts to accommodate the fit-again Grundy, while the squad is completed by scrum-half Ollie Hodgson.
Rams name three travelling reserves in case of any last minute issues, those being prop Ryan Lomas, hooker Brad Clements and speedy Jamaican Sevens international Jack Rampton.
