ZACH Clow returns at full-back as Rams make one change for tomorrow’s National One home clash with Sale.
The speedster has an impressive strike rate of 13 tries in 18 first-team appearances, but suffered a hamstring injury while scoring the National League Try of the Week at Rosslyn Park back in January, slotting back into the side having returned to full fitness and with Henry Bird away with work commitments.
The starting line-up is otherwise the same as the one which made it six consecutive bonus-point wins at Darlington Mowden Park, the prolific duo of Jak Rossiter and Charlie Robson joining Zach in the back three.
Axel Kalling-Smith scored the crucial fourth try at DMP, and his blossoming centre partnership with vice-captain Drew Humberstone gets another chance to thrive as the latter continues his record of starting every game this term.
Top points-scorer Fraser Honey will also make his 21st appearance of the campaign, having taken his tally to 140 for the season with a peerless display from the tee last time out.
Ed Hoadley is at scrum-half for the third game in a row, while the forwards are led by Ant Marris, hooker Max Hayman – now joint top try-scorer in National One following his double at Mowden Park – and the irrepressible James Baker.
Connor Stapley and man-of-the-match Dan Swain were magnificent in the engine room in the Darlington success, while Mike Hoyt, James McRae – with three tries in his past three appearances – and skipper Robbie Stapley complete the side in the back row.
The Rams’ bench has been a handful throughout the season and the one change sees fit-again prop Paul Englezos – who also went down at Rosslyn Park – back for Ryan Lomas.
Paddy Harris and dynamic youngster Calum Scott are also ready to make an impact in the front row, while Ben Atkins has enjoyed an excellent debut campaign at Old Bath Road and currently has eight tries to his name.
Electric scrum-half Ollie Monye rounds out the matchday squad as Rams aim to keep their good form going and end their five-match Sale curse.
