TEAM NEWS: DREW SKIPPERS TITANS AGAINST CARDIFF UNI

Rich Ashton11 Sep 2024 - 11:45

Free entry for tonight's clash with BUCS Super Rugby visitors!

DREW Humberstone skippers Rams Titans for this evening’s home floodlit clash against Cardiff University (7.45pm).

The first-team centurion will be partnered in midfield by Joe Pannese, the Loughborough man who scored Rams’ first try of pre-season at Aberavon.

There is pace out wide with Jamaica 7s ace Jack Rampton on the right wing, former Berkshire flier Alex Mannhardt on the other flank, and the back three rounded out at No. 15 by Andrew Lamb, the Scotsman who set-up a brace of tries during the 42-28 victory at Chinnor last month.

Young scrum-half Ollie Hodgson is partnered by the more experienced Tom Humberstone, the four-time Oxford Blue who will look to get the three-quarters going from No. 10.

There are a couple of former international Under 20s in the front row, Irishman Liam Bishop on the loose-head after impressing at Aberavon, while hooker Brad Clements represented Scotland.

The head of the scrum is completed by tight-head Terrel Harry, who starred for the Titans last term before earning a National One debut at Birmingham Moseley.

Trialist Dan McAdams, a former Royal Navy U23s captain who featured for Worthing Raiders last season, is joined by summer signing Harry Stone – the explosive young ball-carrier who switched from Coventry.

Two Reading Uni students take the blind-side flanker and No. 8 shirts in the form of Barney Thomas and Harry Judd, while last season’s Players’ Player of the Year, Mikey Duda, will look to bring his usual all-action style to finish off the starting XV.

Another summer signing, Nick Barry, made quite an impression in his previous floodlit Titans showing against the Royal Air Force last year, and the prop is joined by young hooker Harry Bicknell among the replacements.

Reading University’s Rocco Hartley covers the back row, with another student, Isaac Tokura, a powerful centre who played for Berkshire U20s last year.

Fellow midfielder Ikechi Mere is a recent Cambridge University graduate, while trialist Oli Rhoads, a versatile Newbury Blues three-quarter, is also set for some game time.

Entry is free with bars open from 6.30pm.
