TEAM NEWS: IT'S A HALF-CENTURY FOR AWESOME ANT

Prop set for 50th cap as Rams welcome Rosslyn Park to Old Bath Road!

ANT Marris will make his 50th Rams appearance in tomorrow’s mouth-watering National One home game against Rosslyn Park (3pm).

The loose-head prop has been a revelation from the moment ex-forwards coach Spike Henderson enticed him across from Wallingford, overcoming a serious knee injury a couple of years ago to now reach his half century.

The laidback and popular star is joined in the front row by hooker Max Hayman and man-of-the-moment James Baker, the evergreen tight-head who stole the show in last Friday’s derby win against Chinnor.

The remainder of the side remains unchanged from that game – a fifth consecutive success – with Ollie Taylor and Dan Swain again teaming up in the engine room and vice-captain Josh Collis, Vince Everitt and skipper Robbie Stapley uniting in the back row.

Scrum-half Ollie Cole bagged a brace of tries under the lights last Friday – he is currently on course to win the National League Try of the Week vote on the back of Baker’s sensational assist – and he will again be partnered by Will Partington as the duo look to get the three-quarters flowing.

Connor Hayhow and Ellis Jones are the centres, with another two-try star, Zach Clow, looking to follow up his magnificent debut on the left wing.

Axel Kalling-Smith also crossed the whitewash against Chinnor and the Swedish international starts on the right, with Henry Bird rounding out the side at full-back.

Front-row cover is provided by hooker Ollie Moffitt and versatile prop Paul Englezos, the dynamic youngster equally capable of playing on either side of the scrum.

Fit-again James McRae was man-of-the-match when the two sides clashed earlier in the season, scoring a stunning try from some 40 metres out, and his return adds another intriguing option to a strong-looking bench.

In-form scrum-half Ollie Monye returns having repeatedly impressed for the Titans, with former Reading University ace Rowan Grundy completing the squad.

Top try-scorer Jak Rossiter is named as a travelling reserve in case of any last-minute issues.
