TEAM NEWS: MAKEPEACE-CUBITT TO MAKE TITANS DEBUT

Rich Ashton3 Nov 2023 - 15:30

Fly-half now fit to start at top-of-the-table Richmond Vikings!

GEORGE Makepeace-Cubitt will make his first senior start for Rams as the Titans visit Richmond Vikings tomorrow (1pm).

The former Mini, who rejoined the club from London Irish in the summer, has overcome injury to take his slot at fly-half against the unbeaten HALBRO Raging Bull Shield Division One leaders.

He will have another local man, former Oratory School scrum-half Ollie Monye, inside him, with four-time Oxford University Blue Tom Humberstone at 12 and ex-Richmond player Karl Quartey returning to his former club to complete the midfield.

On the wings, Aaqil Attah and the free-scoring Sam Rennell have impressed in recent weeks, while full-back Charlie Robson scored a wonderful try in his most recent outing against Cambridge University.

Ryan Lomas, Niall Kidd and Sean McDonnell-Roberts make up the front row having more than 150 first-team caps between them, while in the engine room, Colin Thomson adds another 68.

He is partnered in the second row by the ever-present Liam Goodison, with Josh Collis skippering the side from the blind-side flank.

Youngster Mikey Duda has caught the eye on several occasions this term and starts on the opposite side of the scrum, the skilful and ball-playing No. 8 Mike Hoyt rounding out the side and likely to throw into the line-out.

There is plenty of power to come off the bench in the form of Berkshire prop Elio Mandozzi, Reading University hooker Harri Williams, ex-Bath man Mikey Etete and former Colt Roan Noone.

Among the three-quarters, Alex Sparkes has been in fine form, and he is joined by Mike Annells and Ollie Hodgson, the young scrum-half who joined from Maidenhead in the summer and who is now fit to go.
