TEAM NEWS: TITANS SQUAD FOR SAXONS REVEALED

Rich Ashton6 Jan 2023 - 08:45

Kidd, Stapley and Hayhow among starters as Clow debuts in London!

RAMS Titans have named a squad including 11 players with first-team experience as they restart their HALBRO Raging Bull Shield Division One campaign at Richmond Saxons tomorrow (2pm).

The front row of Niall Kidd, hooker Ollie Moffitt – a National One try-scorer against both Plymouth Albion and Cinderford before Christmas – and Ryan Lomas all featured for RAMS in 2022, while Connor Stapley has 83 first-team caps.

The long-serving second row is joined in the engine room by the ever-dependable Liam Goodison, while young talents Mike Hoyt and Spencer Hayhow start on the flanks with Fijian Army ace Mana Cakau at No. 8.

Scrum-half Ollie Monye has been racking up the tries this season including one in the Titans’ most recent outing – the 34-22 friendly triumph against the RAF – and he is partnered by Tim Townsend as the young duo look to get the backs flowing.

Connor Hayhow continues his return from injury at inside centre, with Tom Humberstone outside him at 13.

Having been denied a debut when the Chinnor Falcons game was postponed before Christmas, Cardiff Met University graduate Zach Clow – who scored for London Scottish against Jersey earlier this season – will look to make an impact on the left wing, with Miki Vancura on the other flank and the highly exciting youngster Charlie Robson rounding out the side at full-back.

On the bench front row cover is provided by Paddy Harris and Terrel Harry at prop, while current Cardiff Met man Harry Silman is a promising young hooker.

Mike Duda has caught the eye for both the Centaurs and Berkshire Under 20s this season and should provide impetus in the back row, along with another county player in Exeter University’s Josh Norman.

Among the backs, scrum-half Joe Booth is also capable of playing further out wide, while Mikey Annells is happiest in the centre but is equally versatile among the three-quarters.
