TEAM NEWS: TWO CHANGES AS RAMS AWAIT BLACKHEATH BATTLE

Rich Ashton15 Nov 2024 - 12:30

Marris and Radianirova come into starting line-up for first-versus-fourth clash!

RAMS make two changes to their starting line-up for tomorrow’s mouth-watering National One home game with Blackheath.

Loose-head prop Ant Marris returns to the pack for the first-versus-fourth clash at Old Bath Road, joined on the other side of the front row by Ryan Lomas.

Leading try-scorer and captain Max Hayman sandwiches the duo, with Nile Dacres and Dan Swain remaining unchanged in the engine room.

Similarly, the back row of James McRae, open-side flanker Tom Vooght and Robbie Stapley – who scored a record-extending 104th first-team try in last week’s comeback win against Sedgley Park – will line up together for the eighth time in nine games this term.

The one alteration in the three-quarters comes at outside centre, Axel Kalling-Smith away on international duty with Sweden and replaced by Solodrau Radianirova, the Army man who was himself unavailable against Sedgley Park having made a try-scoring contribution to the Red Shirts’ victory against US Military on Friday night.

This means the half-back combination of Ollie Cole and leading points-scorer Fraser Honey will look to pull the strings, Rowan Grundy at inside centre.

In the backfield, Bath loanee Luke Graham again starts on the right wing, Tomek Pozniak on the other flank and Zach Clow at full-back – the latter duo currently tied as second top try-scorers with six apiece.

Prop Paddy Harris drops to the bench as he maintains his record of being included in every matchday squad this season, joined by club legend James Baker as he gets set for a 424th first-team cap.

The versatile Morgan MacRae is, like Harris, an ever-present this term and covers hooker and the back row.

Young scrum-half Ollie Hodgson is again included among the replacements, with the squad completed by another player capable of slotting in across a number of positions, Andrew Lamb.

Five travelling reserves are named with prop Liam Bishop, second/back row Harry Stone and Mikey Duda on hand in case of any last-minute issues, Oli Rhoads and Joe Pannese doing the same for the three-quarters.
