FORMER Mini Tom Vooght’s superb first season back at Rams has been recognised with selection for National League Rugby’s Level Three Team of the Season.

The flanker, who first joined the club as a four-year-old, received the nod following a campaign which saw him produce a series of typically all-action displays, topped off with five tries in his 20 outings.

Having returned to his boyhood club following two seasons at Henley Hawks, Tom was in strong form from the start, producing a try-scoring and man-of-the-match performance in the Round Four victory at Dings Crusaders.

He backed that up a week later with another five-pointer as Rams celebrated their Centenary Game with a 54-29 home success against Leicester Lions, the turnover king making it three in nine games as Sedgley Park were swept aside to continue a perfect start to the campaign.

Vooghty made it four at Leicester post-Christmas, before completing a fine term’s work with the opening score in the final-day success at Darlington Mowden Park.

One of the club’s all-time greats, Tom now totals 61 tries in 176 appearances – sixth in the first-team standings – with the possibility of a double century of caps on the horizon next season.
