THE CLARK'S TAKE PART ON BBC'S POINTLESS (PART TWO)!

THE CLARK'S TAKE PART ON BBC'S POINTLESS (PART TWO)!

Rich Ashton24 Apr 2021 - 12:00

Max explains how his dad Paul and he improved after their initial effort - and gives a Pointless answer about pineapples!

Having been eliminated in round two in their first effort, things got better, writes Max Clark.

Now with the confidence of seasoned Pointless contestants we arrive back at Elstree studio early the next morning, ready to give a good show and enjoy the day.

This time we were clearly given the VIP treatment and were shown into a huge dressing room with multiple sofas and a shower if we really began to feel nervous!

The pair of us enjoyed our lunch and were then informed our next show would be starting in 15 minutes.

This time it was Paul’s turn to wear a bright shirt and he pulled it off beautifully.

Hair and makeup complete (Max took ages - Paul!) we stood on the podium to begin our show, and in this game we made it all the way through to the head-to-head with a pointless answer given by yours truly.

Who would have thought I’d know so much about the production of Pineapples?

Losing out to a strong couple we were happy to have got so far and still have one last shot at the grand prize.

With one more show to go we came back to the room for one last outfit change.

By this point we had had great fun and were there to enjoy the show and our 15 minutes of fame.

The makeup rechecked (Max took ages) the hair slicked back and we were under the lights for our last show.

We made it through to the head-to-head again and Paul pulls out a brilliant Pointless answer when discussing birds of prey, leading to another £250 added to the jackpot.

Unfortunately, this is where the dream dies and we lose a very close head-to-head, but bow out with dignity (and a promise I will learn more Beatles songs).

Here we say goodbye to Alexander and Richard and the producers help us take off the microphone and escort us out.

An absolutely fantastic day where it was clear the Pointless crew cared about the show and the contestants who appear on it.

I hope I speak for both Paul and I when I say it was an experience we’ll treasure and enjoy and, in a few years, I hope to watch the shows together and be able to laugh at our answers and remember a good time in what was a year blighted by Covid.
