Great to see everyone this morning and the kids enjoying a good post Christmas session.

Hi Everyone,

Great to see everyone this morning and the kids enjoying a good post Christmas session.

Unfortunately some of the kids had to be moved upstairs to the clubhouse due to the cold, regrettable some were not dressed appropriatly and this led to a chain effect on others in the group.

As of next week any child not turning up with appropriate clothing will not be allowed to train.

Base layer, shirt and shorts are not enough when the temperature is 0 deg at 10am!!!!!!!

For reference, as coaches we can keep the kids warm but if they turn up cold there is no chance the kid will enjoy himself. If temperature warms up, they can always remove a layer to cool a little before continuing.

So here are the rules when the weather is due to be cold, usually you will get a gentle hint over Teamer or Facebook, otherwise just put your head out of the door in the morning.

- headwear: wool hat or scrum cap

- gumshield

- top, sweater and jacket coat, if possible waterproof

- base layer tights or trousers, if possible waterproof

- two pairs of socks are ok, just more washing

- boots if possible with different studs.

- gloves are no good if they absorb water. Rugby mits are no good at keeping hands warm, they don't cover fingers, absorb water and freeze the hands. These will be removed as it is easier to warm the hands without them.

Basically apart from the face and hands there should be no flesh on display.

Please take this on board and we can continue working hard at becoming better rugby players.

Thanks for your cooperation and I would appreciate if you acknowledge this note.

Coach Mark
