YOUTH ROUND-UP: HENRY COOKS UP A TREBLE

YOUTH ROUND-UP: HENRY COOKS UP A TREBLE

Rich Ashton9 Feb - 08:25

All the latest from around the Minis and juniors!

HENRY Cook scored a wonderful hat-trick yet still ended up on the wrong side of the result as the Colts Extra As slipped to a last-play 22-15 defeat at Royal Wootton Bassett.

Against a physical home side, Rams suffered an unfortunate series of injuries in the first half and found themselves 17-5 down at the interval before Cook rustled up two more tries to cut the gap to a brace with five minutes to go, only for RWB to finish the job late on.

The Extras are due to host Beaconsfield in OBB Division Two this afternoon (1.30pm), while the table-topping As look to keep their Division One unbeaten record going at Amersham & Chiltern (1.30pm).

A sizable Under 16s squad overcame visitors Newbury 31-12 ahead of a trip to Bracknell today, while the U15s, who went down to a strong Reading Abbey outfit, host Wallingford while also sending a side to Lily Hill Park.

Having suffered a brace of defeats at Henley (38-7 and 42-10), the U14s play a round of Berkshire Cup away finals.

The U13s split a pair of games with Aylesbury, winning one by 11 tries to two while losing the other 8-2, and they are on the road at Supermarine while also hosting Banbury (1pm) today.

Finally, in one of the biggest mornings of the Minis campaign, plenty of the Senior Squad including the likes of captain Max Hayman, Ben Atkins, Andrew Lamb, James Baker and many more will be coaching the U7s-U12s!
