Seb Reynolds praises the performance of Rams young players as they steer the team to a resounding away win.

On a sodden afternoon in Coventry the Rams returned to winning ways with a blistering performance securing their first victory in three games as the game finished 14 – 36, with head coach Seb Reynolds delighted to have returned to winning ways, saying “For the last couple of weeks we’ve not played as well as we would’ve liked, but if you learn from those experiences and play as well as we did today it's excellent.”
The Rams pack which had been so reliable in the first half of the season seemed to be back to its best with a number of the Rams tries coming from impressive drives.
The Reading men had a number of new faces, whose contribution head coach Seb Reynolds was very pleased with, as he spoke to us after the game saying, “We had some young players coming through from the University who did an outstanding job and I was really pleased with how the young lads looked today.”
Over the opening 20 minutes of the game the Rams played well but were unable to put the finishing touches on their attacking moves as they struggled to come to terms with the wet conditions as their play was littered with handling errors.

However, after 25 minutes, the Rams eventually put points of the board as their powerful pack drove for the line following a five metre scrum, and they were awarded a penalty try to take the lead.

This seemed to open the floodgates for the away side as they added two more tries before half time, the last of which coming as Cole deftly kicked the ball forward and Corrigan latched onto it following a display of electric pace, leaving the Broadstreet defence in his dust as he took the ball over the line.

The Rams began the second half as they had left off in the first adding another try shortly after half time as Vooght broke and cleverly popped the ball off to Nightingale who burst through his opposite number to stretch the ball over the line.

With the game looking like it was becoming beyond the reach of Broadstreet, the referee added to their woes as the home side received two yellow cards in quick succession.

The Rams took immediate advantage of their extra men adding two more tries, both coming from 5 metre scrums with Collis placing the ball over the line for his game hattrick.

Broadstreet enjoyed a late surge with two tries as the game was coming to an end but ultimately this was only to be consolation as the sound of the referees whistle cued celebrations to ensue for a deservedly victorious Rams side.
