The strength in depth that the squad now has was evident today.

The strength in depth that the squad now has was evident today as the coaches had the luxury of making no less than 13 changes for the second match, changing the entire pack in the process!

In order to try different positions and put training ground moves into action it was agreed that we would play 3 x 20 minute games.

Match results;

Match One; Redingensians 17 Henley 0.
Tries from Hunt, Wareham (converted by Lee) and Sharp.

Match Two; Redingensians 17 Henley 5
Two tries from Tsang and one from Griffiths, converted by Richardson.

Match three; Redingensians 22 Henley 0.
Two tries from Tsang, one converted by Lee, and tries from Holt and Lu.

It would be easy to sit and mention just about everyone by name, such is the quality now of the squad. The "usual suspects" who often get taken for granted had great games; Sharp was everywhere, Leicester directed things well from fly half, Hunt marshalled his troops to good effect and Wareham likes nothing better than to make hard yards with three opponents hanging from his back....., to mention but a few.

Lets look for a change at the newer faces and a few of the up and coming players;

Lee has fitted in well, looking sharper by the week at scrum half. There is a tendency to show off slightly with his conversions and today was no exception, having hit the uprights in previous matches today he bounced a difficult kick from the right hand touch "twixt the stick" off the crossbar! Dalton is growing in confidence week by week and made good ground today ball in hand. Webb is growing into a reliable blindside, like Holt often putting in good unsung work in the close encounters.

Lu is becoming a real threat at No 8 and has a good habit of verbally encouraging his team mates. A well deserved try in the final match was just reward for a good performance, especially in the lineout. It was great to have Cox back (briefly!) from injury making several good breaks from deep. A great sight from the home supporters, and a pretty worrying one for the opposition. Hughes also grows in confidence by the week; making several well balanced breaks from outside centre today, exemplary running with the ball in both hands. Dickinson had a stormer on the left wing, making several good breaks down the wing.

A number of players threw their hats in to the ring for the man of the match award. Congratulations go to Richardson and George for taking the awards. George is another player whose confidence is growing by the week.

Numptyness abounded today. It was a tough call but a three way split between;

• Sharp: who has been infected by the Cushine-Palmer/Richardson "goose step" disease that is in danger of reaching epidemic proportions within the squad.

• Wild: who had a good game at full back. Receiving one clearance kick deep inside his own half sprinted two third of the pitch junking in and out of opposition players before diving for the line. Surely a certain try....not so. Caught in mid air by two defenders he was unceremoniously marched backward and eventually into touch.

• Wareham: who for a front row forward showed immense body strength after receiving a ball on the half way line and ploughing through, over and eventfully under half the opposition pack, out sprinting (yes out sprinting) the cover defence to give himself time to head towards the posts for what would surely be try of the season so far. Err....not so...having reached the undersides of the posts, and to the horror of the large crowd he spilled the ball forward.

On a slightly more serious note it was another good team performance by all members of the squad. With our first League game only 4 weeks away there will be some very difficult selection issues to address. Great problem to have!

Thanks to Henley for three very competitive games. We look forward to another friendly against them at the end of the season.
