In what could have been a very one-sided game and a score line seemingly confirming this, the match did not bear this out. Ensians’ make shift team, with a pack including 3 hookers, probably had over 60% possession and 60% territory but 3 breakaway converted tries made the difference to the scoreboard in the first half. Up front, Ensians held their own with strong counter rucking producing good possession but they could not convert it into points. Score 28:0
The second half was more of the same. Possession and territory to the visitors but in the end and some good forward work linking with the backs, Ben Laflin was able to cross the line for a try.
This was a hard game with many of the players out of position but they stuck to their task and performed admirably.
