All ability's gel to play great rugby.

A great turn out on Saturday with 27 of the squad playing in the Curtain Raiser match against Chinnor. A large and useful looking Chinnor team fielded 11 players, it was decided as it was so cold not to have a large number of the Gensians U9s standing on the side lines.

We split our squad down into three mixed teams of 9 with no subs. It was really good to see mixed teams of Rams, Titans and Centaurs all working together and all the players lifted their game to take on Chinnor. We played three games with our mixed teams with two narrow defeats and one win.
The winning game was touch and go, one good break that Chinnor made was stopped by a last ditch tackle 5 feet from the line by Marcus Bailey who dragged the Chinnor player back before he was tackled again by one of our forwards, the subsequent ruck was won and the ball recovered. Another great move by the fly half Josh Ede saw him track the Chinnor winger half the length of the pitch towards the touch line before a crunching tackle which took the winger clean off the pitch into touch.

The last game played before we had to leave the 1st team pitch was with our Rams side. The Rams team are really starting to gel and it showed with them dominating the last game. The team held Chinnor in their half for most of the game. The rucks were dominated by our forwards Harry, Brandon and Archie giving clean ball for us to recycle out to the wings. Final score Gensians Rams 15 Chinnor 0 After the games both teams sat down to hot dogs, cakes and biscuits in the club house.

Many thanks to our Director of Rugby Gary Reynolds and the senior members of the club for inviting us to hold the Curtain Raiser. Thank you to Alison for organising the food for the teams, also the support of the coaches and parents for making the effort to turn out for the games and staying to watch the 1st team game. Thank you to Chinnor U9 for taking part and a big thank you to all the squad who turned out to play some great rugby. It was great to see the players of all ability’s gel and play some great rugby. We are very proud of you.
