The "a" team won 3 matches and lost one. The league was a three way tie with Bracknell and Abbey. The eventual standings took tries scored into consideration, and we came second to Bracknell.
The "b" team (or Worms as they decided they would be called) won three and drew two matches, coming second in their competition to Aylesbury again only on try difference. Looking at the ages of the Aylebury team (they looked like Under 7s, whereas our team where mostly under 6s) we should be very proud of the result.
But that is only the result. There are many more things we should be proud of. The enthusiasm and behaviour of the players was exemplary. The enthusiasm demonstrated by both teams made the coaches very proud.
I expected the "a"s to do well, but the "worms" really shone through. With many players playing in their first tournament, I didn't expect them to gel into a team as quickly as they did. Everyone played their part and I am exceptionally proud of them.
Thanks to Neil and Matt who did the on-field coaching and thanks to Alistair who helped with refereeing. And finally, thanks to the parents, for cheering and clapping and general positive outlook. The whole squad was a credit to the club.
