A hard-fought 19-12 victory at Plymouth Albion last Saturday came on the back of a 36-10 home success against Tonbridge Juddians.
That victory halted a poor run of five consecutive losses, Chinnor going down at Cambridge (41-3) and Darlington Mowden Park (42-17), against visitors Caldy (23-12), on the road at Blackheath (25-15) and in the last play of the game when Birmingham Moseley (29-27) arrived at Kingsey Road.
The Thame-based men had actually started 2022 with a brilliant 31-24 success at Cinderford, a result which followed a shock 23-19 home loss to Bishop’s Stortford.
Before that Chinnor had pushed then leaders Rosslyn Park all the way in a 28-27 loss at The Rock, having eased past Taunton Titans 22-5 seven days earlier.
Prior to that they enjoyed an excellent 29-12 triumph at Leeds Tykes, blew a 36-22 lead with six minutes remaining in being stunned 41-36 at home to Plymouth Albion and won 34-15 at TJs.
Two narrow home defeats to Cambridge (32-20) and DMP (23-20) along with what now appears a highly creditable 27-27 draw at Caldy followed a fine start to the season which included a 34-28 home victory against Blackheath, a 29-22 success at Moseley, a hard-fought 33-28 loss at Cinderford and an opening-day 34-21 triumph against title contenders Sale.
