FLYING full-back Jevon Marsh enjoyed a sensational season back in 2010/11 – running in 17 National Three South West tries and a further five to help Rams win the Berkshire Cup!
Having first crossed the whitewash against St Ives back in September 2007, Jevon added a further six tries – including a double against Weston-super-Mare in a 19-point haul which secured a 24-18 success – during sporadic appearances before he enjoyed a campaign to remember.
He opened his account during a 30-25 defeat at Bridgwater & Albion, and backed it up with a stunning hat-trick against Cheltenham.
With Jez Flynn, Seb Reynolds and Andy Tweedie also going over, and the latter adding a brace of conversions and penalties, Rams eased to a 40-19 triumph.
Jevon then crossed in the first two weeks of October in victories against Cleve (46-17) and Coney Hill (25-11), and also in the 36-19 reverse at Hartpury College.
Tries from Jevon, Craig Clements and James Baker, along with nine points from the boot of Spike Chandler (three conversions and a penalty), guided Rams to a thrilling 24-22 win at home to Oxford Harlequins in mid-November, and Jevon made it nine before Christmas in a 37-24 home success against Bridgwater & Albion when Andy Amor also bagged a brace.
Jevon kept his hot streak going with a double in a 38-14 triumph against Coney Hill (Baker, Clements and Seb Reynolds also touching down), and made it 12 for the season the following week in a 28-7 victory at Exmouth when Robbie Stapley and Azza Hopkins were the other try men.
He made it three tries in as many weeks albeit in a 30-15 defeat at Hartpury, before ending February on a high during a 25-8 success at Barnstaple.
His 15th of the campaign came during a fine 42-17 cruise at Oxford Harlequins, and then scored a magnificent hat-trick three days later as Rams thrashed Newbury 54-19 in the Berkshire Cup semi-finals – Stapley, Amor, Reynolds, Aaron Hopkins and Mike Davies also going over under the lights.
Returning to league action, Jevon rounded out his most prolific season with scores against Weston-super-Mare and Barnstaple, and he then bagged a brace as Rams overcame neighbours Reading Abbey 38-17 to win the Berkshire Cup at Old Bath Road.
Also on the scoresheet that evening were Reynolds, Andy Webb, Andy Amor and Horn, while Webb and Davies both slotted two conversions apiece.
Jevon continued his good form the following year with a further 12 tries including a four-timer at Weston-super-Mare and doubles against Exmouth and Newbury as Rams recorded their best season to date with a third-placed finish.
His other scores came against Chinnor, Old Patesians, Oxford Harlequins and Amersham & Chiltern.
Jevon switched to Henley Hawks the following season as they won National Two South, before work took him to Hong Kong where he recently made the news with a staggering charity effort for Hong Kong Scottish.
