Summary:

A change of position inspired Olly’s first Rams’ tries as having been playing flanker, he switched to wing and bagged a brace in a dominant 55-13 hammering of visitors Avonmouth Old Boys in December 2013.

Returning to the back row, he also crossed against Old Centralians and Newton Abbot, with Rams going on to finish as runners-up in National Three South West, eventually losing the promotion play-off to Old Elthamians.

The following season proved to be Olly’s most prolific for the club, starting with an opening day brace against Barnstaple (while back on the wing!) and following it up with two more in the 52-17 cruise at Chard a fortnight later.

His fifth of the season came in another big victory – 53-5 at home to Oxford Harlequins – and he also crossed in the final game before Christmas against Bournemouth.

With Rams riding high at the top of the table, Olly grabbed doubles in the back-to-back wins against Old Centralians and Old Patesians, putting them nine points clear at the end of February.

His hot streak continued with a fifth try in three games in the 56-6 squashing of Old Redcliffians, and the then added a brace in the 65-5 mauling of Oxford Harlequins.

Having secured promotion, Olly’s first try at National Two South level came in the heart-breaking 27-24 home reverse against Old Elthamians, and he then also dotted down as the club recorded their first away win at Level Four with a 37-12 triumph at Southend.

Olly’s final score of the season came in the 27-15 home loss to Bishop’s Stortford, and he added two more in the 2017/18 campaign, at home to Barnstaple in a 33-10 success, and at Wimbledon the following week in a game Rams won 24-13.
