TOP-SCORING GAMES NO. 17 - 73

One of the great Old Bath Road games ends in Cinderford heartbreak, and Marsh grabs hat-trick as Rams brush aside Newbury in cup!

Rams 36-37 Cinderford (September 29, 2017)

Rams were edged out in heart-breaking fashion as a last-minute James Moffat penalty preserved leaders Cinderford’s unbeaten start to the season.

In a dramatic opening 40 minutes, Rams picked up a bonus-point thanks to two Omar Ellaboudy tries and scores from Jordan Souter and Stevie Bryant, but the visitors held the deficit to 24-22 as Jack Hayes bagged a brace and Reuben Norville also crossed the whitewash.

The second half took a little longer to ignite, but Rams moved further in front through Andy Berry’s score before it was cancelled out by Tom Brockett.

Joe Duffelen’s try seemed to have given Rams control with a 36-27 lead with 10 minutes remaining, only for Moffat to convert Matt Lane’s try and then strike the fatal blow in the final stages of a pulsating clash.

Newbury 19-54 Rams (March 15, 2011)

Jevon Marsh grabbed a brilliant hat-trick as Rams crushed Newbury in the Berkshire Cup semi-final.

Further tries from Andy Amor, Robbie Stapley, Seb Reynolds, Aaron Hopkins and Mike Davies, added to by four Spike Chandler conversions and a pair of penalties, gave Rams a smooth passage to a final they would go on to win against Reading Abbey.
