Summary:

Heralded as one of the best defensive centres in the National League, Stevie has also shown his cutting edge since first dotting down in a thrilling 24-23 success at Barnstaple in the second game of the 2012/13 season.

Further tries came against Maidenhead (62-0) and Newton Abbot (30-25) as Rams went onto finish fifth in National Three South West.

Stevie’s most successful try-scoring campaign came the year after, beginning in a 60-5 home rout against Chippenham, adding another in a 48-7 reverse at Lydney – the first time he’d scored in a losing effort - the following week.

He grabbed a third try in four games in the 16-7 win at Old Centralians, and then crossed in the first game of 2014 – a hard-fought 22-17 victory at home to Brixham.

Stevie went over in the 31-11 triumph at home to Old Redcliffians and then bagged a brace the week after in a 50-15 cruise against visitors Worcester Wanderers.

However, despite his best efforts, Rams could only finish as runners-up and were denied promotion after losing their play-off 17-10 at Old Elthamians.

The tries continued to flow the year after, though, with six coming in the title-winning campaign.

Stevie dotted down in the 55-17 thrashing of Barnstaple in the season opener, and backed it up with a double in the 41-8 win at Bournemouth the week after.

He also crossed at home to Brixham (49-22), with a double against Chard (64-7) arriving in the second game of 2015.

Moving up to National Two South, Stevie scored in the 32-18 home win against Bury St Edmunds, and also in the dramatic 33-33 draw at Redruth in the final game of a campaign in which Rams hauled themselves out of relegation trouble to finish eighth.

Stevie’s first try of the 2016/17 season arrived on the second weekend, Rams beating visitors Barnstaple 31-20, and his second came at Canterbury (23-27) in mid-November.

His great record against Barnstaple continued in the New Year as he completed a seasonal double in the 14-7 away win, with another try arriving the next week at home to Exmouth (43-21).

Stevie made it three in three at Barnes (36-22) and completed his tally for the campaign at Cinderford (25-12) two games later.

Rams’ best campaign up to that point came the year after, when Stevie’s six tries helped them to a third-placed finish.

He started on the opening day in the 28-24 reverse at Henley, while his second arrived in another loss, this time the heart-breaking 37-36 reverse against Cinderford.

That streak was ended when Stevie dotted down in a convincing 47-24 win at Tonbridge Juddian, and two week’s later he grabbed Rams’ first try in the 33-26 home victory against Old Redcliffians.

Stevie’s fifth of the season – and his fifth against Barnstaple – came in a wonderfully entertaining 38-31 success at Barum, before he went on to score arguably his most famous try, the coast-to-coast team try against Henley in the 51-0 win at the end of the season.

In the title-winning season of 2018/19 Stevie scored in the opening day 44-15 win against eventual runners-up Canterbury, before embarking on a travel sabbatical.

Returning with the side in National One, he went over in the last home game before Christmas (a 44-14 victory against Plymouth Albion), and then grabbed the first in the thrilling 35-31 success against Bishop’s Stortford – the first time Rams had beaten their Hertfordshire opponents.
