Summary:
Andy’s first Rams’ try came in the 19-12 home win against Wootton Bassett back in March 2004, and he added a brace the following season against Frome (13-8) and Tadley (13-12) before grabbing seven to take him into double figures during the 2005/06 Southern Counties North title-winning campaign.
He crossed on the opening day at Olney as Rams turned around a 10-0 half-time deficit to win 34-17, and followed it up with scores in the convincing home wins against Bletchley (33-5), Swindon (39-13) and Amersham & Chiltern (45-0).
He completed a seasonal double against the latter in the 15-7 away win, and also went over in the high-scoring thriller with Stow-on-the-Wold (51-38) and in the 64-12 drubbing of Slough.
He made it 11 tries in 11 wins against Swindon (41-36) in the next campaign, before his talismanic streak was ended with the only score in the 36-7 loss at Salisbury.
Andy’s next try came in the entertaining 45-31 triumph at High Wycombe and he collected his first double in the next game at home to Cheltenham (47-8), before grabbing a sixth of the season at Henley Wanderers (33-8) as Gensians made it back-to-back titles.
Moving up to South West One, he crossed twice in 2007/08, at home to Weston-super-Mare (24-8) and at Maidenhead (15-12).
After some time out, Andy scored his 19th and 20th tries for the club in the 37-24 home win against Bridgwater & Albion in December 2010, ending with five tries in the season thanks to an effort against Oxford Harlequins (42-17) and two at home to Barnstaple (48-34).
Andy’s most prolific campaign came in 2011/12, helping Rams to a then-best third-place finish with 11 tries.
He started in the 45-15 home win against Old Patesians and followed up the next week at Weston-super-Mare (52-23), grabbing further pre-Christmas scores against Barnstaple (23-10), Newton Abbot (39-8), Chippenham (39-22) and Old Redcliffians (53-5) – the last three coming in consecutive weeks.
His seventh of the season was at home to Barnstaple (17-3), and he also crossed at Old Reds (27-17) before claiming his sole career hat-trick in the end-of-season 85-0 rout of Bridgwater & Albion.
Andy scored on the opening day of the following campaign against Avonmouth Old Boys (40-0), adding another in the 20-14 reverse at Chppenham.
Further tries at home to Oxford Harlequins (57-12), Brixham (36-21), Chippenham (29-18), Amersham & Chiltern (5-11) and Avonmouth (41-14) gave him seven for the season.
The skipper upped that by one the following year as Rams finished runners-up before missing out on promotion in the play-off with Old Elthamians.
He started at Brixham (30-10), crossed against Old Patesians (29-0) and then bagged a brace at home to Newton Abbot (42-10).
Old Bath Road tries against Weston-super-Mare (25-21) and Worcester Wanderers (50-15), supplemented by one at Old Pats (33-22) and lastly a home score against Amersham (22-10) made it eight for the season.
Andy finally led his side to the National Three South West title the year afterwards, grabbing nine tries to boot.
He went over in the 55-17 season-opening win against Barnstaple and made it two in three matches at Chard (52-17), also crossing versus Newton Abbot (31-15) as the new clubhouse was officially opened, Old Redcliffians (51-15), Brixham (49-22) and Weston-super-Mare (31-3) to have six by the end of 2014.
A blip came in the 22-13 defeat at Bracknell in which he dotted down, but Rams regrouped to take the title and Andy completed his scoring for the season against Old Reds (56-6) and WSM (21-12).
He grabbed his most recent try in National Two South at home to Bury St Edmunds more than two-and-a-half years after his previous, helping the hosts to a 29-17 success and a third-placed finish.
