Summary:

Having joined in the middle of the 2015/16 campaign, Conor made an immediate by scoring in four winning performances which helped Rams secure survival in their first season in National Two South.

His first came at Old Elthamians in a convincing 42-18 victory, and he also crossed a fortnight later in a 34-0 whitewash of Cornish All Blacks.

His third away try of the season came at Bury St Edmunds (31-28), before his maiden score at Old Bath Road came in the 37-21 success against Chinnor which mathematically guaranteed survival.

Conor opened his account the following season with his first Rams brace at home to Barnes (33-12), grabbing another try in the 37-17 triumph at Bury St Edmunds the next week and then adding another double against Cinderford (41-22) to make it five tries in three games.

His 10th try for the club proved decisive in the 29-25 victory at Worthing, although he ended on the losing side for the first time when scoring as his brace against Redruth proved in vain (14-28).

Conor’s next score came at home to Exmouth (43-21) and he moved into double figures for the season in the heart-breaking 36-33 loss at Bishop’s Stortford.

Tries at home to Worthing (43-27) and Taunton (32-33) meant he finished the campaign with an as-yet best haul of 12.

Rams continued to improve in the 2017/18 season and after scoring at Tonbridge Juddian (47-24), Conor began a hot streak by scoring in five consecutive matches starting at home to Barnstaple (33-10).

He then went onto dot down against Wimbledon (24-13), Redruth (21-12), Taunton (21-31) and Bury St Edmunds (29-17), and five further tries in the New Year – Cinderford (5-26), Broadstreet (36-12), Redruth (19-25), Taunton (31-15) and Henley (51-0) – gave him 11 for the season and Rams a third-placed finish.

Conor ensured a third consecutive double-digit season in Rams’ title-winning campaign of 2018/19, beginning with a try in the 33-15 home win against Dings Crusaders.

His second came in the grim weather at Birmingham & Solihull (53-0), but it was after Christmas he really put his foot to the floor.

During a stunning run of eight tries in six matches, Conor crossed against Barnes (48-14), twice at Guernsey (59-8), in the 25-19 loss at TJs, in the 31-15 home success against Old Redcliffians, for another brace in the 48-19 triumph at Dings and lastly in the 42-21 home win against Taunton (42-21).

The speedster was also on track to again reach double figures during Rams’ first season in National One, having scored in the thrilling 27-21 home cracker against Chinnor and in the 37-22 defeat at Richmond the following week.

He got Rams’ only try in a 21-11 defeat at Bishop’s Stortford, and also crossed against Cinderford (29-7) the next week and Rotherham Titans (28-16) for a third score in three games.

Conor completed the seasonal double against Stortford (35-31), and his double in the last game before the season was halted due to the pandemic at Cinderford (40-38), means he is still the reigning National One Player of the Week!
